speed training I believe that one of the key elements of speed is good technique. This means, that speed sessions that I coach are usually supervised to ensure correct technique at all times. When training on your own, make sure that you try and run with a relaxed style and if possible get someone with sprinting experience to supervise. These sessions are aimed at players who have speed and want to get quicker as well as players who are need of acceleration and agility. This actually covers all players, as all players need speed to some extent. Remember that although soccer is a team sport, it doesn't mean that the whole team should train together and do the same conditioning sessions. Different players have different levels of fitness and different requirements dependant upon their position. These requirements will be determined during fitness tests and programs developed to concentrate on required areas. |
